Members of the Medina Fire Department rang the bell for the Salvation army this week at the Dollar General, on Maple Ridge Rd., Medina.
The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration. And yet, so many families are struggling to make ends meet. In all seasons, The Salvation Army is there to lend a helping hand and provide food and shelter for those who are struggling. This year we will help more families to be thankful and assist parents in bringing the joy of Christmas to children in need. We welcome you to join us in providing hope and help to others.
The red kettles seen on street corners and in front of shops throughout the Christmas season are perhaps the most quickly recognized symbol of The Salvation Army. The many “bellringers” who volunteer their time to encourage donations into these red kettles are quiet heroes to the communities they serve.
Donations put into The Salvation Army’s red kettles are used locally to provide services and programs in benefit to the community in which the money is collected. These funds may support soup kitchens and transitional shelter for the homeless, activities and programs for at-risk children, care and essential services for seniors, and more based on local needs.
