At ten after two, Tuesday morning, the Medina Fire Department, assisted by Shelby Volunteer Fire Company and Lyndonville Fire Department, was dispatched for a house fire at 506 E. Center St. in the Village.
All occupants of the house escaped without injury and called 911. Several passerby’s also reported the fire.
Medina Police arrived along with Medina Fire to confirm a working fire in a two-story, wood frame, single family dwelling and the detached garage.
A second alarm was summoned bringing additional crews and equipment from Ridgeway and Albion to the scene and standby crews from Middleport, East Shelby, and COVA to the Medina Fire Station.
Crews worked quickly to combat the fire which rapidly spread from the detached garage to the house. Crews also worked to protect the neighboring home from heat damage.
Fire Investigators from the Orleans County Emergency Management responded to the scene. The cause of the fire has not been released, but officials confirm it does not appear to be suspicious.
